CAAP Online Practice Tests in French,
German and Spanish are now available to CAAP teachers and their students.
There are two practice tests per language, each with reading, listening
and writing sections. These tests will give your students the opportunity
to practice for the annual CAAP Early Assessment Measures and to obtain
valuable feedback on their language performance.
If you are already a member of
the CAAP collaborative and are interested in having
your students take the CAAP online tests (or in examining the online
tests yourself),
please contact Rebecca Bias by email (bias.3@osu.edu) or by
phone (614-292-4137) for your login information.
We hope that you and your students will
find these tests useful. Please let us know by email or by phone
(614-292-4361) if you have any questions.
If you are not a member of CAAP
and would like to join the CAAP Collaborative, please contact Diane
Birckbichler by email (birckbichler.1@osu.edu) or by
phone(614-292-4361) to set up an orientation for you
and other interested teachers in your school.

QuickTime:
In the listening tests you will be required
to listen to some recorded conversations. To do this you must have the
Quicktime software from Apple Computer installed.
Download Quicktime
If you need to download quicktime, you
can get it from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/.
In the browser list there are links to the specific downloads you will
need.
If you know you have Quicktime installed and your Quicktime
plugin does not seem to be working see your system administrator.
The CAAP test site has been designed for the capabilities
of Internet Explorer on Macintosh and Windows. This site has been thoroughly
tested on Macintosh and Windows computers with the folowing browsers.
We show the exact versions of the browsers we used for testing. You
may try a browser other than the ones listed, but this site may not
work as intended.
We have provided links to the approved browsers and
plugins for your convenience.
Macintosh OS9, OSX:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.1 (OS9), 5.2 (OSX)
(download page
5.4 MB) (Quicktime
page)
note: On OSX Internet Explorer sometimes has problems completely drawing
the page. This is a known problem with IE and has yet to be fixed
by Microsoft. Sometimes clicking in the blank areas of the window
will help complete the drawing of the page. We have tested the CAAP
test under Mozilla, Chimera
and Netscape
under OSX and they all work pretty well.
Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000,
Windows XP
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 sp1 (download
page 17 MB) (ActiveX
Quicktime Page)
IE 5.5 sp2 and higher does not support Netscape style plugins anymore.
If you are using IE 5.5 sp2 or higher make sure you download the ActiveX
quicktime extension.
